Yeah..i absolutely agree with this. No matter how much I pray to god..I don't see any significant changes in my life. With or without selfish motives..my prayers doesn't get answered.

Take my aunt for example...she is so pious and does all the rituals for god and prays and prays...at last her life is still the same. Full of problems and crap.....

And on the other hand,,, those atheists I know...they are leading happy and fulfilling lives.

I know people like to say...God tests those he likes. But how long is he gonna test us ? Will he grant us peace only after we have die?

Sometimes I feel just believing in nothing....

Please don't quote any religious sayings..I am sick of believing in em.

Finally someone religious who doesn't think that us Atheist are sad, miserable, selfish people.

The reason God tests you is to see whether you are destined for heaven or hell. Sinners go to hell, except God forgives those who repent. So I guess either way you are going to heaven. Except when you die you will find that heaven doesn't exist, so live life to the fullest whilst you can becasue you won't get a second chance!

Not even on a good day would I agree with your statement. The old saying if GOD brings you to it HE will bring you through it, is so true. Your aunt may pray but that alone does not make her a Christian. Your prayers may not have been answered yet or have been but not with what you wanted. Don't give up. I prayed for a job change for 3 years before it came through, then I was injured on the job so I was put on disability compensation and later fired for being unable to do the job,so I filed for my retirement benefits since I was vested in the plan, next I was in an automobile accident which put me on total social security disability, then my husband passed away. All this over a period of 5 years GOD was preparing for my financial security. GOD is the only one who can see you through anything and everything.

Not believing in God is rational, but being rational doesn't necessarily translate into being happy or successful. I went to an atheist meeting one time. There was a whole bunch of men and one woman. No kids. I've had enough male companionship for one lifetime. I never went back. If you go to church, the whole family shows up. Religion tells us to follow leaders and watch parking meters. People who do that have more surviving offspring than the clear-thinking guys at the atheist meeting. If you are familiar with the theory of evolution, it does not say that the smartest will survive. Survival of the fittest has nothing to do with survival of the most rational.

there's a chance that's true, but sooner or later everyone's going to drop dead, in fact we have no guarantee of even one more day. so living a happy and fulfilling life is short at best, if God is true, then being with HIm in eternity will be a lot more interesting than a short happy life. i also have a lot of unanswered prayers . it's not easy to keep believing, but I still think it's the best idea in the long run.

those who believe in God does not always lead happy life rather so many God Lovers lived a terible life but you see the God lovers are actually looking for the life after death which is never ending so why to worry for a much smaller thing why not go for the eternal happiness

God gave you freedom to believe or not to believe. Do whatever you like. Just don't come crying on Judgment Day. Problems and unanswered prayers make a person stronger and makes one's faith stronger. It is up to you if you are willing to give up the faith for the stupidest reasons. If you don't like religious sayings then don't believe in them. They are meant to make you a better person. If you don't want to become a better person then go join the Church of Atheism. Be bitter, hateful, disrespectful. You probably don't know that a greater majority of people who do believe in God are much happier people than the majority who do not . God gives them comfort and joy.

Are you really happy? Do you have inner peace? I doubt it.
Your aunt possibly has never experienced the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit; many "Christians" are unaware of the reality of receiving the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost- same thing). They seem to think it's just symbolic, but it is very real.

Jesus said that He would not go to the cities that are full of unfaithful people because there was no reason to. He only seeked out the faithful. He knew what was in people's hearts. Just because your aunt goes to church and prays doesn't mean anything. My father is Catholic. He goes to Mass every Sunday, unless sick. He has skin cancer, has had 8 surgeries in the past 12 years, had a serious surgery 4 years ago and almost died, and becuz of that surgery, he is now diabetic, has lost hearing in one ear completely and the other is going. Had a knee replaced 2 yrs ago and it didn't help much. He still hasn't lost faith in God, but he doesn't blame God for his ailments and other things that have happened to our family.

I have a friend that is an atheist. He gives credit for good things to good luck and nice people and when bad things happen, he says "sh@t happens". He is naturally an optomist. But I know other atheists that are pestimists and are difficult people to hang around. They whine a lot.

Believing in nothing is eventually get you that - nothing. But believing in God will get you something. But God knows your heart and mind better than you do yourself. If you believe "just in case there really might be a God" then that really isn't faith and you will not gain the kingdom of God. And suffering on earth is only temporary compared to eternal life in Heaven. Just like temporary happiness on earth is just that-temporary.

My life has be a hell of a roller coaster! I am Catholic. I have rebelled against my family and against God. I have literally told God to go to hell once. I lived thru hell on earth twice. Four years ago I begged God to let me die. Doctors said I should have died. But I didn't. Praise the Lord! I now see everything differently. But honestly, it's not easy. Having faith isn't an easy thing to have. I don't care about what others say to me. I am not offended by others' words. I can ignore them easily. It's my own thoughts, my own doubts, my own sinful temptations and my own sins that get to me. Faith is something I have to work on day by day. I still get upset with God over some things and I am always asking Him why, why, why!!!!???? He ALWAYS answers me, tho. He answers me in His own time. I have found out that He answers us in His time, when He knows we are truly ready for the answer, especially when He knows we aren't going to like the answer. He gives us what we need, not what we want. Knowing God is a long and hard process. I will never get to know Him completely, but from what I have come to know, I have come to learn more about myself as well.

Be patient with Him because He has TONS of patience with the billions of people that He has to deal with today :)

Once again the mediocre extend offers of servitude to whatever their chosen deity may be in the hopes of significant improvement when the answers to life's problems are right in front of them. How about this, god helps those who help themselves. Just about sums up what your god's level of love for you is, doesn't it?

Having a good/happy life has almost nothing to do with religion, I'm atheist, and I have a horrible life, whereas I know plenty of other atheists who have great lives.
