I need to stop my pupils using the Copy option in Word. Is that possible and how do I do it ?

Can you paste it as a picture so they cant copy the text?!

Because basic copying is pretty much an integrated part of windows (even in notepad you select text and copy and paste), it is almost impossible to stop someone from copying.

Unless you have access to Acrobat Professional version, even text in PDF's can be copied and pasted into a new document. (I am not sure about this, but it is possible.)

The only option I can think of to protect a document so it could not be copied would be to convert it to a graphic (.jpg or .gif - .gif's would probably be a good format because it is text).

I would then, create a webpage with some javascript that disables right clicking on images -- a little overkill since they cannot select the text anyway, but I would still do it.
