Were you wanting me to give you a sign on how your question is going to be answered.
This sign would show a picture of you and it would say approach with caution, person trying to use half a brain.
The word slow doesn 't mean that the child is slow ,the picture of a running child means that there are active children around that area.
If you really do not know then I will give you a proper answer. It means that if you are in a vehicle that you should proceed at a slower speed because there might be a chance of a child running out in front of you or some playing near by. That sign is meant so that you stay alert and be careful.

Because children are unpredictable. My child has ran straight across the road, even when I had said to them stand here and wait. I had a baby in one arm and a 4 year olds hand on the other. Yes my little boy (7) should have known better than to run across the road and into the path of an oncoming car, I have explained to my children so many times as to the dangers of the road, but at that spur of the moment they can forge. Luckily the car slowed down and he was OK but it could have been much worse. So that sign is there for a reason.

For the same reason that department stores are full of signs like "childrenswear" and "womenswear", because the people who design the signs don't know how to punctuate.
Though some children do certainly swear and my son is always dawdling so maybe they just didn't know how to represent a slow child.

I guess a child is more likely ro run out in front of you than walk out in front of you?
I like the sign that says 'new roundabout ahead' if you lived in the area you would have seen it being constructed and if you had never been there before you would assume it had always been there!!

The signs that say " slow children " is for drivers and bike riders to reduce the speed they are driving or riding at, most of them signs will be seen around schools and shops and play grounds.

Too funny!! The children aren't slow, just in the area playing. You are supposed to go slow due to the children in the immediate area. The children are running around like little monkeys as they always do!! I love it!!!! Thanks for the funny!!!

Its just bad grammar. It should say 'Slow, Children' therefore suggesting you slow your vehicle in case a child runs out in front of you.

I don't know, but at the Colomendy camp in Wales, they have signs that say 'drive slowly children'!
Are children allowed to drive slowly or otherwise?
