i am priscribed seroquell and effexor for scisophreinia,and methadone for addiction, can a doctor cut me off of the methadone without a detox?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the doctor might be able to gradually decrease the methadone dose until you are no longer taking it.
However, it might be more complicated than that, considering a diagnosis of schizophrenia and treatment with other medications. Getting off methadone too quickly might interfere with the treatment of schizophrenia. Opiate withdrawal might make the symptoms of schizophrenia worse, and those medications might need to be adjusted.

As long as it is medically appropriate, and safe, the doctor can cut you off without a detox. As far as I know, he isn't required to give you detox. Ask for a second opinion.

It's normally safer to go detox, but there may have been an interaction between the drugs that he wanted to avoid. Get a second opinion.

its the same with anyone on meds did you request detox?do you feel you need it?how long have you been on these meds?if you need detox ask your md if not happy with answer get second opinion.take care

sounds to me your using this as a fix so yes he could(legally)if he felt the same way...
