Is this true as it seems to work for me or is it all psychosomatic?

Eggs have no special revitalising properties. If you are chronically tired go see your GP. Most will organise some blood screening to exclude anything important.

To be fair 90% of patients with only this symptom will come up clear, 5% will show evidence of a viral illness, which has no treatment, and only about 5% will have a treatable cause.

Eggs contain iron and sometimes if you lack energy your iron supplies are low! If you eat too many eggs you build up cholesterol and can suffer from constipation. If I feel low in iron I eat beetroot; blackcurrant jam and corned beef foods I Like.

If I feel ow in iron I automatically want to eat these foods; It is not psychosomatic, Your body does tell you things and the more that you are in touch the better you will feel!

Keep smiling, that helps too!

Personally I feel it is just the 'protein' and 'fats' which do this for me. I get the same from milk also (even though there is quite a bit of lactose in the milk)

I tend to feel more lethargic and sleepy when I eat carbs (unless it is pure glucose then I kinda feel energised till it runs out and then I feel even more pooped!)

Eggs comfort food a hark back to a chucky egg in cup you would have been given as a sick child. Bananas, apples and pasta based foods for instant long lasting energy.
