My ex-girlfriend is suicidal and has suicidal tendencies—she has been to a mental hospital. She calls me up and tells me she wants to commit suicide since I am not with her anymore and that I am with someone else. If she actually does this successfully will someone come to my house and tell me what happened, will it be in the news or will her parents call my number and tell me? Will a hotline contact me?

probably not, her parents might call you. She needs help, give her the suicide hotline number, call the ambulance when she calls you, tell her family about these thoughts and calls. Help her to help herself.

Sadly, if there is a family member, someone might call you and let you know, or a friend...it really won't be in the paper, or the news....a hotline won't tell you, it will have to come from a mutal friend or family member....don't let her use her emotional problems to blackmail you...tell her that you still love her, but that when she gets over her depression, and is happy again, there might be hope for you both..I know it seems cruel, but she will feel better if she has something to 'live' for, and in the process, she might meet someone else...I don'tknow, I would just pray that she will be alright...

The next time she calls you up and tells you that, call the cops.

She needs to go back to the hospital because making threats like that are illegal. They can lock her up for threats like that.

Don't have anymore contact with her, okay? It doesn't seem to be helping that you even take her calls. She needs to get over you.

You'll hear about her death through friends. No one else legally has to notify you about anything regarding her death.

To her you are too involved. Tell her family what she said to you and stay out of it. Otherwise she might mistake your concern for 'getting back together'

i wouldnt worry about it she is just playing a guilt trip with you so you need to get on with your life and enjoy it. change your phone number and forget about her she will be ok. they will see to it. so try not to worry about her. and concentrate on your new woman cause if you dont she may feel left out and you do not need that!!.
