Everyone here tend to talk about the original sin. I was thinking that original sin is really on big hell of a sin and that is why it is inherited by everyone. Only today i learnt that the sin is that adam/eve ate the apple that god didnt want them to eat. And because of that they were banished to hell. So from this what i know is that if you don't obey god even in the simplest form, you will go to hell. In that sense, its so stupid because, almost every ordinary christian i see, do lie, do have pre marital sex...some skip prayers...most of them arent perfect like what god wants...so probably 99% of the christians will go to hell? Of course, me too, because im not even a christian lol.

There is nothing like "original sin".The natural justice is that one can be held accountable for his personal sins. One cannot reconcile with the assumption that eating an apple by Adam and EVe was such a big mistake that even the new borns shall be unexonerated for all times to come.It does reflect very poorly on the preception of Christains. Please check up the source when this concept creeped in the Christainity?Interjection by Saint Paul, I am afraid!

The Bible never mentions an apple, it was the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And yes that was the beginning of original sin, and the Bible never mentions the fate of Adam and Eve other than the promise that they would surely die, If they went to hell or not I do not know. Before sin they would have lived forever, but since they disobeyed they died, like we all will.
Disobedience is a death sentence for all of us, If you run across a professing Christian in above mentioned 1% group, saying that they do not deserve death, then they are either lying ( which is a sin) by calling God a lier or they just don't understand. apart from Jesus we have no hope, because all have sinned and have earned their wages, death. not only is sex outside of marriage adultery, but so are those lustful glares. And to hate some one is the same as murder, because God will judge us not only by what we do but by the intentions of our hearts as well.
In short, 100% of us deserve to be sent to Hell, except for the one that followed all of His commands outwardly and inwardly. Jesus truly God and Truly man. He did what we can not, then he gave His life as a ransom, benifiting those that believe. We did the crime. Jesus paid the fine. Believe, Repent and be baptzed and you to will be saved.

Biblical parable can't be translated so literally. The bite of the apple represents mankind tasting of the 'tree' of the knowledge of good and evil. It refers to the dualistic perception of mind which creates the concepts of good and evil. In a sense, it is the loss of innocence.

If you look closely, you'll find that what we call good is nothing more than what we personally like, and evil is what we personally fear. This varies according to individual, culture and history. There is nothing absolute about this perception, and so there is no absolute good or evil.

It is, however, the source of all fear, judgment and struggle, and therefore leads to suffering. This suffering is what is meant by hell. Hell is not a place one goes to after death. It's right here, in the form of human suffering.

What is meant by "original sin", then, is dualistic perception, which begins when one is born into the world and encounters 'otherness'. In the presence of 'otherness', there is the struggle for survival.

There is no God 'out there' who judges or condemns anyone. There are no rules. There is no heaven or hell but that which you create right here and now.

The original sin is symbolic of mans nature to not trust God. The fruit of the tree of knowledge was deceit or conceit of man to think that we know best, By this so called knowledge we deceive ourselves into the illusion that what is fun or what we want or "what doesn't hurt anyone", we think these things are good. Thereby we reject Gods word on the subject. This " original sin" actually causes all the rest of sin.

Yes,Christians ARE guilty of some abomnible sins but we believe that through Christ our sins are forgiven and erased.Though of-course,even if we do'nt go to hell we will still receive punishment for our deeds in this life.In the spiritual realm, however ,our sins are anulled and the punishment there is destroyed. Some Christians use this as an excuse to commit sins, but this is evil and there will be retribution, even if it is only in this realm and not in the spiritual realm. But you're right--if it were'nt for Christ all us Christians would be going to hell!Luckily,we have Jesus.Though I have to admit,I think a lot of us Christians are an embarassment to Him.It's time for a revival in the church.

I'm not a holy-roller of any kind, but I believe that it is understood that we (mankind) are not capable of being perfect; this is why Jesus died for our sins. Further, Christians believe that after confessing our sins and asking for forgiveness all will be forgiven and one will go to heaven.

The part about this that I have a hard time with is that a mass-murderer can kill hundreds of people then ask for forgiveness, and then theoretically be allowed into heaven. Well, that's a whole different conversation...

no. in its original languages, the bible uses the hebrew word she'ohl and in greek haides mre than 70 times. Both words are related to death. Some bible translation render them as grave, "hell", or pit. However, in most languages there are no words that convey the precise sense of these hebrew and greek words. The new world translation uses the words Sheol and Hades.

It is the common grave of dead mankind the figurative location where most of mankind sleep in death.

So theres no literal hell where they punished wrongdoers, thats so wrong! God realy love us thtas why He gave us the Bible to know what the answers in such question.

God told Adam and Eve: "Of all the trees in the Garden thou mayest freely eat;but of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil thou mayest not eat, for in the day thou eatest there from, Thou shalt surely die." God does not play games--when he talks--listen.
It wasn't an apple--it was fruit of the knowledge of Good and Evil tree. They made a choice now you are making a choice with all the knowledge in front of you. Be cautions.
They were cast from the garden and death was past upon all men for all have sinned.

We are humans are we not? That means we are bound to commit mistakes and commit sin. We entered this 'state' when the first humans relented to the temtation in Eden. That's why God sent Jesus to pay for our sins. That way we are saved. John 3:16 says: 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to save us that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but shall have the light of life." Now, when we sin, we have to be sorry for it and try hard not to commit it anymore. Its hard to live that way but you know, it'll be worth it.
