In a nutshell, all the smoke and gas is building up making the atmosphere absorb the heat from the sun but not relase it, so just like a greenhouse, it lets the heat in and keeps it warm, so if the world keeps up this pollution we will end up with floods resulting from melting icebergs, among other things..thats all I know..

All I know is that let's say, you have a backyard full of plants, during sunny season, the plants has a cooling effect and give you more oxygen that help you feel in good normal condition. And during rainy season, the plants are the ones that help absorb the water so as no flood will occur. Well, something like that.
