My girlfriend has felt as though she's lost that special warm feeling. I want to show her what beautiful things lie ahead for us by starting with a sunrise in NYC. If anyone could please tell me the best spots to see the sunrise in NYC (or Brooklyn if need be) I'd be greatly appreciative. The more romantic the location the better!

I believe I have sunset covered as we have a favorite park by Chambers Street but that would be welcome as well. Thank you so much!

When we lived in Brooklyn and would come home at dawn, sometimes, my husband would pull over on the Belt Parkway and we would sit on a bench and watch the sunrise over the Verrazano Bridge; it's a magnificent sight!

I don't know much about sunrise as I'm a night owl and when it's almost dawn I go to bed.

I would recommend the promenade at the end of Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights. The 2/3/4/5 to Borough Hall or the M/R trains to Court Street can get you 2-5 blocks away. There you can see the beautiful NYC skyline, the Statue of Liberty, the harbor, and the sunset. The neighborhood is pleasant and the people are nice. Alternative to this you can try Sunset Park located at 5th-7th Avenue between 43rd-45th Street in Brooklyn. These two places are higher in elevations so you get to see the sunset far away and not behind a building. Take a camera and plan a surprise so you can capture the moment.

You can get lovely skyline views by going outside Manhattan. Exchange Place in Jersey City (one stop west of NYC on the PATH train) has a lovely boardwalk area with stunning views of the city and would make a great sunrise spot. Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City (one stop into Queens on the 7 train) is a lovely waterfront park right across from Midtown and is beautiful at sunset. The Brooklyn Heights promenade is also a good sunset choice.

The sunset is just gorgeous while walking the brige (don't remember which one, the one that the N train goes on). It's just beautiful how the sun sets over the buildings.
