Be prepared to shell out ALOT of money and for your hair to be very dry ( this is a chemical process); so your gonna have to buy very moisturizing products. In some cases can irritate yoru scalp but if the professional does a skin test they will know beforehand.

You would have to go into a reputable salon to have a consultation and see if they reccomend that service to you. Having any type of medical condition (your medications come out in your hair) or color on your hair can affect whether or no the service can be performed. Of if you hair is just in poor condition and cannot stand the process.

Just make sure you go to a reputable salon and ask around for people that have had good results and ask them they will give more honest thoughts more willingly than the salon that has something to gaine from it.

YES! And I absolutely recommend this procedure as long as it is done by a licensed hair stylist. I have "whappy" hair (a white peson with nappy hair). Yes, it is nappy!

Had this done in early November, and my hair is still straight. WOW, it was TOTALLY straight. Honestly, I could step out of the shower, blow dry with a vent brush and go. It even stayed straight in the rain!

Now about 4 months out, the scalp/root area is new growth and not straight, but I control that with ceramic round brush, blow dryer and a Chi flat iron. Still is straight.

Mine cost $200 and it is the best the money I've ever spent.

I'm 51 and have tried every product known (for caucasions and african-american) and this is the one to go with!
