The military pay chart is just base pay for rank and TIS (time in service) you only get bonuses when you enlist or reenlist. There is a pay raise every year.

not every rating gets a bonus, and the amount will vary greatly.. even from day to day. Bonuses are paid out in several ways.

an enlistment or College credit bonus is paid out at the completion of Boot Camp. A rating Bonus is paid out at the end of A school. Expect 28% taken off the top for taxes. If the amount is under a certain amount, it will be baid in one lump sum. If it is over that amount, it will be paid out in yearly installments..half up front, the remainder spread out over the term of enlistment.

Selective Re enlistment bonuses are paid out the same way.. half up front, ahlf divvied up over the new term. Not every rating offers SRBs and indeed, what was offered one year may not be offered the next, you can only get an SRB towards the end of your term, you cannot get one untill you have a year or less left on your EAOS.

The Military pay chart, just list Base pay you receive each month, depending on Rank and Time in service.

IE:

An E-1 with less than 2 years , will make $1301.40 a month.

Married Service members will also receive BAS ( Basic Allowance for Sustenance ) of $279.88 for enlisted and $192.74 for officers.

Married members will receive BAH ( basic housing allowance ) if no Military housing is available. The rate is based on where you are stationed and your Rank.

Say for a E-2 stationed at Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia. The BAH rate is $1,154.00 a month.

Bonus's are completely different.

There are enlistment bonus's, reenlistment bonus's, pro pay bonus's.

All of them will depend on which Rate your husband is enlisting in, how long he enlist for and they can and do change depending on the needs of the Navy at the time.
