I have a friend whose problem is eliminating dark skin (i.e. back of the neck, armpits, elbows, under the thighs, knees & buttocks) or lessening the dark spot (i.e. pimple or stretch marks caused by too much scratching during menstrual period) without going to the doctor for surgery or laser coz she wants to try a natural, unexpensive way of solutioning her problem. My friend is getting quite shy & embarrassed and was not able to wear sleeveless blouse or dress, not even a swimsuit becoz of this problem though she have a good figure. Please advise.

I'm a licensed esthetician, a skin care professional of mixed ethnicity. I have darker areas myself and have also worked with natural products. One thing I recommend for stretch marks is a product called strixaderm md. it is like strivectin; but is a lot cheaper. For the knees there are several inexpensive products at beauty supply stores like Sally's. And lines such as common as Aveeno and Neutrogena are coming out with natural soy based products like bath gel scrubs, lotions, and facial care which will lighten also. You can also usually get generic versions of Mederma and other scar treatments like patches that you stick on for 3 days at a time. The only thing to keep in mind with some of the natural products is patience, because they tend to work a little bit more slowly, depending on how severe the problem area is; average 8 weeks. But they are definitely healthier for you. Two really great books to check out with tips like this are: Brown Skin by Dr. Susan Taylor, and Beautiful Skin of Color - A Comprehensive Guide to Asian, Olive, and Dark Skin by Jeanine Downie, Fran Cook-Bolden & Barbara Taylor. Best wishes!

Unfortunately there is no possible way to correct or even slightly improve eyesight, without undergoing a procedure like laser eye surgery. If your so opposed about having the surgery, the only other solution, is to wear glasses or contact lenses... and please remember that you were advised to wear these, otherwise your vision may actually get worse. Hope this helps with your choice.... All the best xx

Use of lemon
If u have an oily skin, u can go 4 it without any hesitation.
But if u have a dry skin mix lime juice and honey in 1:1 ratio and apply.

or u could use Kasturi Manjal + Rakthachandanam (though it isn't easily available other than in South India) mixed with rose water which is the secret of the glowing skin of malayalis.

There are skin lighteners available at many cosmetic stores which can be applied orally or through a 'mask' system. (These are very popular in Japan where woman wish to be as white as possible). As for the stretch mark scars they can be remedied using Mederma which has proven effective for such situations although it will not completely remove the scar.

Hope this helped!

There are many topical products out there that are skin lighteners. She can always try www.drugstore.com and search for the right product and read product reviews of other consumers who have tried it.
