My husband served in the military. Although I couldn't stand it on the days that he had to leave for months on end, he served something greater than my selfishness.

I remember the one time he got on a plane, I was crying and he turned around after going through security and blew me a kiss and gave me the thumbs up signal.

That was the first time, the others were him going into his ship and the rest I saw was that ship leaving the port.

I feel for you and know how tough it is to let your cutie be somewhere else when you have just the thoughts and dreams of him being in your arms again. I found that writing him emails and keep telling yourself that he is going to be home again helps a lot. Also if you know any other friends who share your situation will help you. My best friend has a Navy man in New York and we would get together for bachelorette parties, just me, her, and her daughter. It really helps.

Keep busy...work out, lose weight if need be, get better fit, go to church and enjoy some fellowship, get outdoors this summer and hike, or learn something new like kayaking, and send him cards and letters letting him know what you are up to. 5 months will go by quickly, and you'll feel like a new person, and he'll be surprised that unlike most people, you didn't sit around moping, you actually went out and live a life. Makes you much more interesting person, and time flys when having fun. Hope that helps!

your question is so brief that i cant make the whole sence out of it but i would just say that it depends on where he is going. If he is going to Iraq then you have a slight problem because many family lost thier loved one who have been there for months and months. If he is just within, there are good arrengements that you can make to be seing each other more often. These things you just get used to. Good luck dont take it hard on yourself.

You might miss him when he is gone but it's not a big deal. Just keep in touch with him, write him, call him, e-mail him, text him.

But, while he is away, keep yourself busy, so you don't miss him too much. Hang out with friends and family members, get lost in your work/job/school, read books, watch good movies and listen to good music to keep you entertained, etc. And try not too miss him too much (although you will).

There are millions of couples who get seperated for many many months (especially when someone is in the military) and they make it ok, so you will too, hunny!

Cheers

In the current sophisticated world distance is not a prob. As far as you can talk with him regularly through any net work(msn, yahoo, etc|) ....but main thing is dont talk for too long, coz if you talk for too long it may cause for arguments to occour. So limit your call duration(max 45 mins).

anyway, relax dear, everything will be ok if you both trust each other and love each other so much....

eih nothing but to trust him and assure him that you'll be loyal and tell him to be honest with you and you'll be honest with with him..5 months is not that long..though there's a lot of things that could happen if you trust your love.. can endure it..the distance and every trial..let this be an oppurtunity to learn about each other and let it strengthen your realationship..
