As the name suggests its a climate phenomenon restricted to not just one region but spread over the entire planet. Its a rise in the earth's temperature that affects, severely, life on the planet. An anormal rise in heat, called global warming, can cause drought, melting of glaciers, changes in climate conditions that affect the growth of crop plants and other flora and fauna worldwide. Some of the results of global warming include the heat waves across europe since the past few years and melting of Polar ice caps.
Since humans form a part of the link that connects all life form on Earth, they too are affected. Global Warming is a serious issue only because human interference (ozone depletion, air pollution, ect.) is a major contributing factor. If it was a natural phenomenon, there wouldn't be such a hue n cry about it.

The Earth operates to a heat budget where the light and heat from the sun that is absorbed by the earth and the atmosphere is dissipated at average rates back into space.

Global warming is where excessive amounts of greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide and methane being the largest quantities of these gases create a filter in the atmosphere and offset the heat budget of the earth by not allowing heat and light to dissipate back out into space. This is why we use greenhouse as the metaphor to indicate heat is being trapped and increasing the earth's average temperatures to create global warming.

I would like to qualify this answer with the current situation that two bodies of thought are present. The first group believes beyond speculation that global warming exists and will occurr and we must take immediate action to stop or slow it. The second group believe that greenhouse gasses are actually a minor issue and the sun's activity might actually influence global warming (or cooling) far more than any changes we have created to the atmosphere.

Its a stage in the climate of Earth where the temperature will rise a few degrees. Currently we are at the end of a global warming cycle and will see Global Cooling start to happen within the next 10 years.

A lie brought forth by the scientific community and pushed by the government to scare us into giving them more money to invent more crap. Think about all the Global Warming grants and tax increases they will be asking for soon. They have been planning this scare tactic for 10years and now they want to collect the money. That is why there is this extra hard push in the media to scare us. Think of all the jobs out there related to 'fixing' Global warming and all the grant money. They have to blame Global Warming on humans so they can propose a fix to the problem because if Global warming is caused by the sun, Guess What? We can't fix it and nobody gets their money. It's all about money and almost always is.

It's caused by a hole in the ozone layer from CFC's and pollutants. The ozone filter's UV rays and the amount of heat we get from the sun. With this hole in the ozone we are getting a higher level of heat and it's melting the polar ice caps and changing our planets natural weather conditions. We have extreme storms, high and low temperatures and it will only get worse as the hole size increases. We won't see much more than that in our lifetime but our ancestors will have to desperately pay for it later.

it's when the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere is rising... if you take the average of summer for example & compare it to the tempritures from past years, you'll notice that it is rising at an exponential rate.
some might say they had the cooldest winter ever, yes becasue higher tempritures in one place can lead to relitavly lower temps in the other.
this causes the ice caps in the north pole to melt, which causes the sea water level to rise which sparks a global atmospheric inbalance

It is an increase in the average thermal of the planet, if one were to take the temperature of representative ecologics, as have researchers been for since Fahrenheit and by other less advanced means, and average them over ages and geologically stable territories. It is caused by arsenists and aliens that mine ozone.
