Hi thx for responding. Before I decide which answer is the best, I'd like to ad add something.
I am from Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country. However, I am a non-Muslim.
I am afraid I have to say the fact that one is gay has nothing to do with his religion. I have met lots of Indonesian gay guys of different religions. Just because u embrass a certain religion doesn't mean that you are immune. (Gay is not disease or any abnormality in my opinion)
Luckily in Indonesia, gay is not Haram at least by law. I've been to part of region of this country that imposes Shariah law, which doesn't allow a man and woman (who are not legally married) together, you cannot hanky panky, kiss, hold hands etc etc.
I saw some guys there and we did have fun. No one noticed when we went out because we are of the same sex. Funny. These guys may not be gay though. It's just OK for them because at least I am not a woman & the shariah law doesnt stipulate same sex activity, according them. :)
