by the way I am from Indonesia

2007-03-20 21:12:02 · 10 answers · asked by Joe Stargazer 2 in Travel Africa & Middle East Saudi Arabia

Hi thx for responding. Before I decide which answer is the best, I'd like to ad add something.

I am from Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country. However, I am a non-Muslim.

I am afraid I have to say the fact that one is gay has nothing to do with his religion. I have met lots of Indonesian gay guys of different religions. Just because u embrass a certain religion doesn't mean that you are immune. (Gay is not disease or any abnormality in my opinion)

Luckily in Indonesia, gay is not Haram at least by law. I've been to part of region of this country that imposes Shariah law, which doesn't allow a man and woman (who are not legally married) together, you cannot hanky panky, kiss, hold hands etc etc.

I saw some guys there and we did have fun. No one noticed when we went out because we are of the same sex. Funny. These guys may not be gay though. It's just OK for them because at least I am not a woman & the shariah law doesnt stipulate same sex activity, according them. :)

I do not know where you live. The biggest website is:
http://www.gaymiddleeast.com. In the UAE the side is blocked by Etisalat. Under:
http://wwwgaymiddleeast.blogspot.com/ you can contact people who might be more helpfull than here on YA.

Take care

Umm...My boifriend lived in Saudi Arabia all his life although he's not arab and he has plenty of experience, unwanted too, with gay arabs. You just have to wear something tight and walk along the streets of balad, jeddah and someone would definitely hit on you.

My brother, who is 12 years old, got harrassed recently by a big fat ugly arab guy who rubbed his penis against my little kid brother on a crowded road in balad. Not only did this freak my little brother out, this can cause mental trauma.

A word of advice, do be careful with arab men. I am a girl and I have lived in Saudi Arabia all my life. Men there are total bastards with no respect for women or human beings. So just watch out for who you date, yea? Take care!

All sites which are against Islamic traditions are blocked in Middle eastern countries.

Dear,
gays are hiding in the middle east because the predominant religion in that area is Islam and forbids same sex sexual relation.
hope that Allah guides to his straight path.
beside that it is very risky if you get caught.

Fortunately there is no website for that.

You can meet someone on the street at Balad area if you are residing in Jeddah or at Batha if you are in Riyadh.
