I am not out to bash mormons but if possible try and obtain a copy of a book called the kingdom of the cults by walter martin. He explains the origin of many groups that claim to be Christian and how they compare to what the bible actually teaches. Mormons teach men can become God and this is in total opposition to what Jesus taught. The bible is clear. There is no other god besides me. On top of that the guy who created the Mormon faith had a dubious history and wrote books that contained many historical errors. If there is ay info I can supply feel free to contact. Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life no man comes to father but by me.

Hey Katlyn.

How about trying this? Here's a site about all sorts of religions called Beliefnet. The also have an on-line questionnaire. It takes a few minutes to fill in then it tells you what 'faith' your beliefs are close to. After that you can find out more if you want.

I've put the link to the main page and the quiz too.

Dunno if you're in the UK, but here churches run something called the 'Alpha Course' about Christianity. I believe it's international.

Hope that helps. Oh, and take your time!

I don't think it is supposed to work this way.
First, you don't need to be part of a religious organisation to have a belief in God.
Second, if you do believe in God because you have some knowledge of him he will tell you who is spreading the true word.
Third, it sounds like you have decided to believe in a Christian God. Pick any of the Churches but if you don't believe that Christ was the son of God you maybe need to become Jewish.
Hinduism could be interesting because they have many flavours of God , all with pretty statues, I like the elephant with many arms best (Ganesh).
Personally I am a Buddhist and we don't have a God but you are welcome to pop round for a cup of tea any time.
If you really want to make religion a big part of your life why not go to all of the churches, temples etc and make it a hugh part. If you want to make God a big part of your life it is probably a different process however.
All religions are uncertain but the cup of tea is a firm offer if you don't mind drinking with a Buddhist.

Skip the religion. It's not about religion. You can go to church, do your daily routine with your worship, etc. But it's about faith. Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins so you may have eternal life? Do you believe that one the last day you will be raised up from the grave? Do you believe that no matter how bad the situations in life may be, God will never leave you nor forsake you? Do you believe that God is faithful, and just to forgive us our sins?

The questions are there just so you know. Religion will fail you. It's about an authentic heart. You will give up on religion or it will give up on you or both.

I'm a believer, but it wasn't until Christ found me before I experienced life to the fullest. An ex- gang-banger, drug dealer, etc.. I don't want to sound like a nutcase but I'm being real about this. Just pray the sinners prayer (Lord, I'm a sinner deserving of your punishment but because you loved me so much it was worth suffering and diing for, I ask you into my heart.). If you pray that prayer, then REJOICE! You are saved. The next thing you want to do is hook up with a good bible based church with a sound doctrine (meaning they believe in the Trinity- God in three parts- Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; that the bible is the final authority in all matters; and they are NOT worldly), and they will help you in your walk with God. You also want to read the bible daily, as it is food for your soul to help you with your walk with God.

And as for me- I hope this helps you, and I pray the Father will lead you to do what I mentioned above.

If you have anymore questions please fell free to ask me personally. My email address is linked to my profile on this program. May God bless you!

yes your already on the process of the saving power of God, if what u say is true, the moment u realize there is a God, and that u want to learn about him, I am Catholic, and would love u to be a Christian Catholic, and i pray that wherever you are u will be lead and u be in good hands. Where to start, try to ask God, that u want to learn and know Him then ask Him to lead u:) where He thinks you will be most effective and where your gifts are so He can use it for his greater glory and your greater learning... if u have problems or questions which i can help u with please do mail me. My prayers will be with u, and God bless

Choose the one that reflects your values or the values and virtues that you would like to obtain. I am not religious but God has chosen to save me and to reveal himself to me, so maybe I can help you. Knowing God is like knowing everything is going to be alright. There is no need to lie, cheat, steal, make fun of people, or think we are better than other people. It's all about finding things that are real and positive like falling in love and doing s things that you enjoy. Realizing what is important like the family, noticing all the wonderful things that God is trying to give like the companship of pets, beautiful flowers, the smell of the ocean, and the comfort of the sunlight. It all starts inside with you treating people better and you developing a relationship with God that has meaning. That is what we seek in life, a life of meaning and passion, and love. YES

Only one of the earth's religions possesses all of the following attributes:

1. Other religions revolve around their founder’s teachings, rules, regulations, and rituals. Christianity, however, revolves around a Living Person, the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Christianity is unique because it is based upon historical facts and the revelation of God in the Bible.
3. Christianity is the only religion that offers the Assurance and Security of Salvation
4. It is the only religion that teaches that salvation is a free gift of god’s grace. There is nothing a person can do to merit salvation, since it is received through faith, apart from works.
5. Other religions were started because of man’s attempt to search for the supernatural, search for the truth, appease their innate sense of sin and guilt, and find favor with his god. But Christianity is the account of God’s search for mankind. "For the Son of Man has come to see and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10; John 10:10). His love for us was the reason He has revealed Himself to us through His Son Jesus and by His grace we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9).
6. It reveals God as the Triune God - God as the Father, God as the Son, and God as the Spirit
7. Christianity is exclusive in its claims. How is Christianity Exclusive?

A. The God of Christianity is claimed to be the only true God (Jeremiah 10:10; Jude 25).

B. The Bible is claimed to be the Word of God and the only true revelation from God (Isaiah 8:20; Revelation 22:18-19; 2 Timothy 3:16).

Some have claimed that the bible is no more accurate that Homer's Iliad. I respectfully disagree and the table shown at the link below clearly demonstrates my argument that the Bible is one of the most accurate sources for the events described in it.

Investigation will also reveal that there exists NO SINGLE SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY that has been shown to prove error, factually or doctrinally, in the Bible. There is lots of speculation and hypotheses, but not a single verifiable fact.

To make this claim alone is quite a feat for ancient texts, but when you add to it the fact that the Bible was written over more than 1,500 years by forty vastly different writers, yet every book in the Bible is consistent in its message. These 66 books talk about history, prophecy, poetry, and theology.

No human beings could have planned such an intricate combination of books over a 1,500-year time span. Bible manuscripts (remember, there were no printing presses until 1455) have survived despite weather, persecution and time. Most ancient writings written on weak materials like papyrus have vanished all together. Yet many copies of the Old Testament scriptures survived. For instance, the Dead Sea Scrolls contain all books of the Old Testament, except Esther, and have been dated to before the time of Christ. Now consider Julius Caesar’s Gallic Wars. Only ten copies written about 1,000 years after the event are in existence. In comparison, there are over 24,000+ New Testament manuscripts, the earliest one dating to within 24 years after Christ.

The Bible also validates its divine authorship through fulfilled prophecies. An astonishing 668 prophecies have been fulfilled and none have ever been proven false (three are unconfirmed).

An honest study of biblical prophecy will compellingly show the divine authorship of the Bible. Further, archeology confirms (or in some cases supports) accounts in the biblical record. No other holy book comes close to the Bible in the amount of evidence supporting its divine authorship.

C. The Biblical Way of Salvation is the only way of salvation. There is no other way (John 3:36). No matter how good, religious or sincere a person may be, unless he or she has faith in Jesus they will not be saved. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

D. Jesus Christ claims to be the only way to God, the only way of salvation and the only way to eternal life in heaven (John 3:16-17). Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

The scales had no choice but to tip in favor of Christianity and God.

Different religions believe in different things. But to begin, you should begin reading the Bible and sitting down with a preacher and talk about your thoughts. I'm a non-denominational Christian, so of course, I'm gonna recomend you go that way.

As far as your other question, the Bible tells us that we can become a believer and be saved at any age. Again, talk to your preacher about this.

What god do you believe in now? What part of religion do you think appeals to you?

You seem to be leaning toward Christianity, but don't forget about Judaism, Islam, Wicca, Hinduism, and the ancient gods. If you're starting fresh, it might help you to learn more about your choices before you commit to one.
