People say it's coz there is very less activity during night. But digestion is mainly about enzymes. What do activities have 2 do with it?

It's not only about enzymes.. it is also about getting the food through the digestive tract. When you are awake, it is easier for your food to pass through your tract, because you are active, and your metabolism speeds up. If you're sleeping, your body relaxes, and the food takes longer to pass through. It also makes it harder for you to sleep because your body is working at digesting the food.

Heavy food especially night snack is the main cause of intestinal cancer in my country. After taking lots of food, we lie down to sleep after one or two hours later. The food stay in the intestine longer because we are lying down and this cause the cancer.

Another problem with eating too much before we sleep is that we can sleep well. Try taking salad for dinner and I can guarantee you will wake up fresh. Of course, the first time you do it, you will feel hungry even before it is bed time.

enzymes or watever zymes. concern part here is metabolism.. at night, you don't walk around the streets, or work hard or chase after work. what do you do at night? sleep!
and i dont think you need to work hard to sleep!
as such. when you sleep, your metabolism slows down. and that means, your body will not be burning much fat or at all if you haven't worked out. activity levels boost your metabolism, so it burns fat.

that is why activity is important. eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a peasant.

no one ever told not to eat heavy at night. It all depends on how many calories did you eat the whole day. if you eat very less calories at lunch then eat heavy at dinner... if you eat heavy lunch then light at dinner

You are asleep, your body needs minimal energy, it can't use all of that energy in 8 hrs while sleeping, what does the body do with energy it can't use ? It stores it as FAT....... energy (Calories) for later use.
