Does the rest of the world need us? What for?

They need us and specifically me to exist as nothing exists outside of my perception of it's existence.

The rest of the world obviously doesn't 'need' us to continue its existence, but by that same reasoning, the world does not need animals or plants or water either... Earth would be different without those things, but the world would keep on turning, so to speak.

And from a certain standpoint, then yes, perhaps we would do the world a favor to disappear. But unless everyone on the planet would like to volunteer to sterilize themselves/commit ritualistic suicide, then our concern should be how to be proper stewards of the Earth, not to feel guilty for even existing.

"The rest of the world" exists for human beings, not the other way a round. We were made to be the custodians of the earth. It's our responsibility to care for the animals, plants, the air and water, etc. for future generations.

All I could think about (no kidding) is during hunting season, all the hunters I know say they need to kill deer to thin out their numbers, because if they don't, the deer will starve to death. I think the deer would like it a lot if people weren't around. And all the other animals that are killed for food AND sport. Yeah, I guess it would be better for the planet if we weren't here raping and pillaging it on a daily basis. But I'd rather be right here where I am.

The rest of the world doesn't particularly need us, but if humans did not exist, nobody would care about the state of the world.

That is completely ridiculous, as well as insane.

Please seek mental counseling for your liberal condition. I think you most likely will require Electroshock Therapy and/or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
