What were your results, what brands are the best, and how long did it take til you saw the results? I have a few nasty scars in noticeable places, and wanted to know if anyone has had success with these creams, or could suggest an alternative treatment. I am desperate. yes mederma is the best and only like $30. my scar was small tho, only like an inch. For many and big ones, it might take a few months but its worth it. Try to keep them out of the sun as much as possible while healing. That's what the doctor who did my stitches told me.

I bought some and started using it on a new scar so I am familiar with the product. On the information sheet that comes with it, here is what they say: "Massage it in 3 to 4 times a day; on new scars for 8 weeks; on existing scars for 3 to 6 months. They claim their product reduces the appearance of scars but also that no product can make scars disappear completely. Mederma can help them appear softer, smoother and less noticeable." I have been using it for about a week or two and I can't tell yet how helpful it is.

I've used mederma, and it worked better than anything else I've tried, but due to the location of my scar (I lacerated my thigh, which has very tight skin), it's produced very little results.
