In Buddhism, samsara is the worldly cycle of birth, corruption, decay and death to which we are all part because of our attachments and emotions which link us to this existence.
Nirvana is the state reached when we are able to free our mind from the passions of the world and no longer be affected by Samsara.
NIrvana is when the mind is free from passion, lust envy and other emotions and Samsara is when the mind is not free.

My "State" of Nirvana is the "Kingdom" of Heaven being in me, and when I die - I will be in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Being in this "state" or "kingdom" gives me peace and joy,
or as you say Nirvana - which was a good band too :)
