I have 18 year old twins and a 16 year old. The twins are boy/girl....the girl has tried many times to destroy the family with lies, humilation, etc. We are normal parent, the school backed us on net letting her back when she ran off at her birthday, she has been kicked out of school and living with adults who are questionable. She refuses our help as we are conservative and have expectations out of our kids. I don't know why you have one normal, and one not. Didn't treat them different. I received a letter in the mail a few years back with an article stating that some people are just wired differently, and that is just how they are. We still try to give her opportunties when we can, but she refuses them. We have decided to let her learn from her mistakes but like you, it is hard to see a love one throw away their life when they were capable of so much more. Just pray for them, as I think only Heavenly Father can help them, if they chose to receive it. Best Wishes!

that is the same question i ask myself at times..
twins can also end up in very different lifestyles..
being a genius too doesn't mean one is wise, or uses wisdom..
if the answer to this question was so easy to attain, all parents would buy it..
pray for your brother , this is all sometimes anyone can do..
life is choices ... for all of us..
In everything is life we chose, either by choice or default we have chosen.. nothing is an accident.. every person good or bad i believe that comes into our life , has come for one reason or other for our experience. it is our choice how we respond, what we do, think and act.. we can say NO, when we chose yes. and Yes when said no.. we can follow the rules or break them.. locks are only to keep the honest out, the thief can enter any time if willing. before we sell our integrity, we too often have already given it away...

I don't have an issue with this, but besides the fugitive list, my kids are like that too. My daughter is a straight A student in the advanced class and my son has absolutely no respect for himself or others. Both kids are by the same father, I am married to their dad. Both kids are taught the same values. I don't understand this myself. It's very frustrating that my son has ruined so much family time because of his behavior.

You may think you both had the same experiences, but obviously someone in your brother's life has had a stronger influence on him than either you or your family or any of your "normal" friends. The only thing you can do is try to support him, and be there for him if he decides to try and get himself out of trouble.

It is something in the hard wiring of peoples brains. I think this is a fairly complex question, although I know a faster answer. He did exactly what you said. He listened to Satin, or Demons rather than listening to his Angels Or taking the path of GOD. You need God in your life to fill your soul with peace. Some people have a stronger sensation to fill the void. They will be pressed much harder to make bad decisions until they except GOD

People make choices. You make a choice each morining to get up and go to work, but if you wanted you could choose differently. The more times you choose something, the more likely you are to continue that choice, because it feels comfortable.
There's a saying
Thoughts become words become actions become habits become character becomes destiny.

HONESTLY, if you can find the answer to that question.........then humanity as we see it would have just got better.
This will remain a mystery until the end of mankind.
