She is overly protective of me and is always checking up on me. I give her lots of space to do her own thing and I try to go out to have fun too but she goes crazy on me. Tried talking about it already many times. What do you think?

Age is not as much the issue as levels of maturity. She sounds horribly insecure which is very immature or inexperienced in relationships. You may want to back off a little and let her know honestly that you cannot tolerate her behavior.

Better now than later when she actually has come to believe that tantrums give her what she wants.

It says a lot about you that you have noticed this and are looking for help.

I married a man who is 12 years my senior, he was 34 and I was 22. He is a CPA-lawyer & I was one of his students in the same university he taught part time. And everything now is just doing great. When a man is on his 30's, he's more mature, more stable, more patient, more responsible & kind a like the father material compared to guys who are just in their teens or 20's. For someone who is on his 30's, you have to understand that women your girlfriend's age don't have the security that your age has. Let's admit it, guys your age are like precious items. Talk about the same problem I had when we were dating. A lot of my classmates would call him on his cell and ask him out flirtatiously and even offer themselves for cash when we're together. How indecent! You also have to understand that there is a disparity in terms on your level of maturity which brings me to one new point. You have to meet her half-way, not her meeting you half-way. You are the ones who has the patience and all the witts for that afterall you probably had several relationships in the past that you can learn from. Also, give her all the assurance that you are all serious in your relationship and that you are all heart to her. Then maybe, she would nag less. This might help.

There's some magic turning point when people hit 27/28.
Stick with her until then and then she'll be on your level.

I think it depends...on you both. I'm now dating (I'm a man), and my girlfriend is older than me. Sometimes my friend think other stuff..You know, mocking me and stuff.. It hurts but she loves me too, so we keep it going on. And many of my friends see that no mather how old "he" or "she" is..It depends on the couple...Thx and good luck then! :)

Has she been hurt in the past? Over time she will begin to trust you, but try not to do something to set it back(which in your case can be anything).
