Back in November or December, I took some cough drops to try to deal with a sore throat that was developing, but I ended up swallowing one whole without giving it the chance to dissolve. Does anyone know if a swallowed whole cough drop can cause blockages inside?

It dissolves in your stomach. It won't cause a blockage.

It is contingent upon whether the cough drop was buried in high pressure ground for a long enough duration to turn it to a stone hard object whether it melts or stays intact. Either way, you can't get any physical damage from a cough drop.

Oh it's probably alreadt dissolved by now. It was just a cough drop. But you were lucky to not choke to death on it. You'll be fine.

whos cares,cough drops are in the candy section at the store,theirs ur answer,cough drops,the joke of all medicines,u get the same response from suckin on a lollipop

I dont think so, I mean people swallow gum all the time and i would think thats worse becuase its sticky, but if you feel nervous call any pharmacy and im sure they can answer that

It melted in the stomache acids in about 5 mins or less.
