The way I try to sleep is try not to think about anything. In other words, I try to clear my mind of all my troubles and I try not think about anything and I let my mind think about some images and the next thing I know it's morning.

Never force yourself to sleep! The length of sleep is not as important as the deepth of sleep. The deeper you sleep the less time you need to sleep. A light sleeper may need 8-10 hours sleep. A moderate sleeper can get by on 6 hours sleep. A deep sleeper only needs 4 to 5 hours sleep. How do U know if U have enough sleep? U simply don't get a rundown feeling if U eat properly and have proper deepth of sleep. If U really want to sleep get a book start reading it and you'll fall asleep. Too much sleep is worse
than too little. It's a myth that you need to sleep 8 hours every night. REST is more important than sleep. As long as You have a good rest and no run down feelings afterwards you are fine. Some people sleep every other night. The nights they don't sleep they just rest! I do sleep most nights
sometimes deep and sometimes moderate. Seldom light sleep. There is about 1 night a week I rest instead of sleep! Warm milk helps some people but others get sick from it!
Sometimes I just answer questions on this Yahoo at night until I get tired or my eyes start blurring.. That might help you! Some people don't
find it helpful but I do. I can only answer so many questions before I get tired and bored!

I am not a fan of warm milk personally.....
I read for a little bit
I lay and count down from 100
I take all my days stress and write it down on a piece of paper..then I throw it away..makes me tired.

I think that's an old wives tale, read a bit then turn off the lights and watch a little TV and you be be ready to crash.

lately i cant sleep until its super late!!!
i take a HOT shower and go straight for bed!
i also leave my Fan on, the noise help me sleep.

It would help, also try reading a book as well. Staying on the pc will not help you at all.
