Never, and i mean never ever put a family members name on your body unless they are your children. Boyfriends, best friends and husbands change. As far as the price it all depends on how big the tattoo is and how complicated the design turns out to be, as well as any color you may want in the tattoo. A small one could be pretty cheap or it could cost a lot. I have 5 tattoo's and the cheapest one was 200 bucks.

Is this Michael as in the arch-angel? If so, then perhaps something in a calligraphic script. I'd want to have an angel image in the tattoo myself, but then I'm bigger on images than words. The two combined could work, just give the artist a chance to work with it.

I otherwise mostly agree with the other folks. If it's someone who's a bf or whatever, don't, and regardless I think you'll have a hard time finding a (reputable) place that does it for less than $100.

I have two names on my shoulder: the names of my grandmother and grandfather. Don't get names unless it's family, I know my family will never change so that's why I did it. I came very close to putting my boyfriends name on me because we dated for almost 7 years starting when I was 16 and I was young like you and figured we would be together forever, but if you HAVE to do it get it in a light color inside something you could cover up. I was going to do a teddy bear with his name inside the middle in light brown then if we broke up I was going to fill the whole thing in with dark brown so I could cover it up.

Here's the deal I got my 18 yr old tatoo for 75 dollars. I got my initials BS on my forearm. I have to wear long sleaves for the rest of my life, not to mention that when I'm in public, I get stupid comments, like what BS stand for, Har Har. So one get something you will like for life, since it's Permanant, and two spend more than three hundred dollars on it, since you get what you pay for. Don't settle for Cheap.

You'll never find a good place to get a tattoo for under $50.00. Most places charge a minimum of $100.00-150.00.. you should do a lot more research about tattoo parlours in your area.

I do not know of a place for you. But I do know that unless Michael is a family member who has meant a lot to you, you will probably regret it. I am not trying to lecture you. Tattoos won't go away, even if he does.

I would maybe think of getting something that represents Michael and your friendship rather than the actual name? I dunno - maybe it's just me. You're not going to be able to find a place for 30....sorry...especially a place that is reputable. Maybe give yourself a higher budget in terms of the amount that you spend if possible. If you're set on having his full name on yourself...you're not going to find it for less than $100-$150
