There are 4 spyware programs on my computer. AT&T , Norton, Adware-registry smart and SpyHunter. I have run one program then again with another and they say different things. Is it harmfull to scan too many times?

Adware-registry smart and SpyHunter. ?

Ps:- Always check the rogue list(link below) before downloading any antispyware software. If the software you are downloading is on this list then it is spyware itself

1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://spywarekiller.hyperboards.com/index.php?action=view_topic&topic_id=4 do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode

then run AVG Anti-Spyware Free

then

2) Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

It really isn't harmful, but there are really only two programs that you really need. Use Norton and Windows Defender which is free from Microsoft. Get rid of AT&T, Adware-registry smart, and SpyHunter.

Norton slows your pc quite a bit though! I know that spy hunter for a fact does not detect many spyware and adwares. You could get AVG Antispyware free version from their website its good though www.grisoft.com and you could combine it with Windows Defender or with Adware - registry smart.

Hope this helps!!!
