First of all, if you develop any of these symptoms, go to the ER right away:
shortness of breath (any trouble breathing at all!)
fever
nausea
vomiting
head ache that won't go away
blurred vision
swelling of area around bee sting
red streaks around sting area

Otherwise, if you see the stinger, carefully pull it out with tweezers if you can. Then make a paste from baking soda and water and apply it to the area. This will help pull out the poison. Let it dry and stay on for an hour or so. Then just wash it off. Expect the area to be tender for a few days.

put a layer of toothpaste over it, wait a little while, then wash it off and put on a band-aid.
