Well there are a huge number of ways; Where the target is: Neuropharmacology, Cardiac Pharmacology etc...

What the techniques are: Molecular pharmacology, clinical pharmacology.

A common way of spliting up pharmacological principles, is by sorting them into either pharcodynamics or pharmacokinetics; i.e. what drugs do to the body, and what the body does to drugs.

It is related to the knowledge of action of medicines, their nature, preparation, administration and effects.
It should not be confused with 'pharmacy' which is compounding, preserving and identifying drugs.
