It'd be a very good fight with both guys on top of their games. Ans with that in mind, it all depends on which James Toney turns up for this one. Certainly the Lights Out who turned up for Roy Jones, having to lose something like 40 pounds would have no chance against Hagler.
Hagler had an excellent right jab, great countering, determination and chin. Toney with his excellent countering, chin, natural abilities. In my opinion, both guys are great on the inside and you know that Marvin wouldn't run away or sit outside on James. I say that it'd be a back and forth tactical brawl/ battle, with both guys eating huge shots and coming through them. Over 12 or 15 rounds, I believe Hagler's heart would shine through in the late rounds, and he'd take a close, but Unanimous decision over James.

Both were #1 pound for pound when at this weight, i wish some of the younger fans would have a look at some of Toneys fights when he was a Middleweight (The Nunn fight is a good one) he was awesome, i mean the boxer he is today is not James Toney for me, i dont really like watching him anymore as it is a farce really i dont think he has trained properly for 10 years. However though in Marvin Hagler you have matched him up against the most fearsome Middleweight ever, i see this being a great fight though that will go the distance, but i see Hagler taking it on points just for the simple fact that he out works Toney for the whole fight, Toney wasnt as defensive then as he is now but he would still look for rests during the middle of the round and that is when Hagler would be putting the pressure on to win him the round. Only danger for Marvin might be punching himself out as Toney would give him the opportunity to do this, however i think Hagler would be too clever for this and once he realised he werent going to stop him he would pace himself properly and just do enough to take the rounds. Hagler Unanimous Decision.

Marvin Hagler in a fight that really wouldn't be close. Marvelous was a fantastic boxer who really rose to the occasion. Toney was an excellent but not great middle weight. Had at least 2 matches that he was given decisions in which he was clearly beaten. Hagler 8 rounds, toney 3 rounds 1 round draw

Great chins. Toney undefeated at this weight. Hagler a bit more power. Hagler is going to land the cleaner shots during the later part of this fight and that is what would win it for him. In an extremely close fight Hagler takes 7 rounds to 5 rounds for Toney. Great match up, tough to call.

The blogbaba is going to bypass adverse to effortless opinion in this one, yet i do not see Hagler beating James Toney. Toney had the chin to win portion of the heavyweight identify, and replaced right into a 9 time multiweight champion who went 24 rounds with Samuel Peters, easily one of at present's toughest hitting heavyweight's. Hagler replaced right into a magnificent middleweight, between the finest yet like Ray Robinson, i imagine Marvin may have had problem transferring up in weight. James replaced right into a proficient boxer, and that i imagine he may have had the flexibility to offset Hagler's aggression. James may have out boxed Marvin and Toney's chin may have made counter punching sensible adequate to provide the bigger Toney the convenience. James Toney by ability of decision.

This would have been an outstanding fight Pancho! Hagler is arguably the greatest middleweight champion of all time and Hopkins is quite a great fighter himself. Both have strong chins and known for their toughness. I believe Hagler is a better all round boxer and has the edge in punching power in this one. I believe the early rounds would be close with Hagler pressing the action with Hopkins coming on strong in the middle rounds. In the championship rounds 11-15 I see Hagler coming on strong and landing the harder punches and winning this fight by unanimous decision.

Hagler. What a warrior he was! Toney would give him all he could handle though.
