Yeah there are a BUNCH of things that should be done like this because people will not sacrifice ANY convenience if left to their own devices. San Francisco is currently considering banning plastic grocery bags which I think is GREAT - I would support that completely where I live - already try to re-use as much as possible.

Raising the driving age is also a good possibility - get your license when you go to college - take the bus to high school. Lots of high schools have parking issues anyway (mine did).

And cars that run cleaner can be easily mandatory too!

what makes you think the Government is concerned about the`planet
ecologists and scientists who work for politicians ,get paid by these politicians and they have downplayed the facts of global warming because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many peoples incomes, especialy the very rich, and upsets profit margins,

so most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.

and what makes you think The government is concerned about the people ,they are planning a global nuclear war

Sometime in your life, you are gonna hafta face reality. The less the government does, the better off we all are(and especially when it comes to nature). NONE OF THAT STUFF WORKS GOOD ENOUGH TO BE WORTH THE COSTS OR "REGULATION" or "IMPLEMENTATION". Not practical.
And NO!!, you wouldn't like it, either. The cost is way too high, and I'm not talking money, neither.

It is sad..that the earth..is being turned into an industrial wasteland..

Lol, we're spoiled really. Not too long ago we didn't have heating or air conditioning. I live up in the mountains and I scarcely use mine..unfortunately some people living in this house just HAvE to have it..-_-

Bring on the flames just because I don't use my air conditioner....wow....I deserve to die for not using it...

I'm sorry, but you'll have to give up your computer - the electricity that you're using is being produced in an un-green manner.

I'm sorry, but you'll just have to WALK wherever it is you're going. Nobody "NEEDS" to drive. No they don't. No, they don't. You'll live - you'll get to the market and home in less than a day. Take a wagon with you. You don't NEED to drive. No, you don't.

Oh...add a massive RELOCATION program - nobody NEEDS to live north of Tennessee. It just leads to needless burning of fossil fuels to stay warm. And we'll be disabling all the air-conditioners too. Nobody NEEDS them either.

Totalitarianism is never the answer. Government is always part of the problem and never part of the solution.
