I'm going to this restaurant and I plan on finishing their 72oz steak. I'm curious what the actual weight will be after its cooked because I also have to eat a baked potato, salad, roll and shrimp cocktail to get it for free.

Usually, the bigger the piece of meat (beef in this case), the more it loses (proportionately) as it cooks. A 5-pound roast, for example, can lose up to 20 percent of its weight if it's roasted in a hot oven. Most restaurants that sell roast beef (cooked on the premises) use a slow-roasting method; low-temperature cooking, for a long period of time. This prevents them from losing (up to) 20 percent of their product through evaporation.

A steak--even a huge one--cooks relatively quickly, over a very hot grill or griddle. You could probably count on a 72-ounce steak losing about 10 percent of its weight. It may be less than that, depending on how much bone (if any) is present in the steak.

Steak Weight

First off, Wear elastic pants and contrary to popular belief dont starve yourself, but try to time it till you knwo your gonna be hungry, starving yourself actualyl makes your stomach start to shrink some cos your eating less.

Now, a 72oz steak would probably be no less than 68oz MAX, considering how they cook it, how well done it is, the only thing to modify the weight would be the liquids leaving the steak as it cooks more, the more it cooks, the more the moisture is evaporated and less there is, now my rating of 68z, is assuming that that is one helluva juicy steak at 72oz before cooking, and you cook it to something in the realm of extra well done, eliminating as much of the liquid as you can.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

You know that's a 5lb steak.. After cooking maybe 4.5 lbs. But the baked potato is huge the salad is the size of a chef salad. And you have to eat it all In 1 hr. Good Luck Been there done that.. Could not finish.....I got all the steak done but the potato and salad and bread got me...

Every single steak is different!!!!!!!!! That is not even a fair question!!! You are on some sick diet and you should not worry about the damn steak it's the potatoe and drinks!!!!
The protiene (I can't spell that) obviously rocks for you because you abviously are vain and work out alot. And frankly you should know that right? Now smack yourself in the face and TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY!! You are the ONLY one that will and you'll be wish'n that someday!! Ignoring this is like a smoker - I know 'cause I am one! So that's the train, RIDE IT OR PERISH!
That was kinda over the top for me but It felt like you needed to hear that.
My sorry,
Lot's o' love, good luck
