can someone tell me whats up with greek gods?i mean i hear of them a lot also heard they are powerful,well all i want to know is a little history,how they came into exsistence,how many they are, if more than,whether they perform diffrent function,and whether they still exist and if there is any other thing u feel i should know about them,it will be very much appreciated.thanks

um well they the question is not "do they still exist." they probly never existed...its a myth. but sure maybe they did or still do ya never know. anyway most relgions frown on it becuase it practices polythism and thats the beliefe in more then one god. watch the "odessy" or "clash of the titans" it will teach you about this

you say this as if greeks are the ones to be with concerning god, as most all religion proclaim they are the choosen ones. let it be known that all religions are equally loved by god, ones culture does not infreng on your ability to be saved. the thought of a god that puts fear into the eyes of his creation turns my guts, we are all trying to get to the same place so why do people argue the words, when the words are there for you to read and what you get out of it is what god sent to you, not what some school teacher tell you, remember god said these words "What is in me is in you and you can do better things than I." the word you means all of us that choose to be part of.

the greek gods are stories in mythology. this means that they are just stories, and these stories are very much alive today.
it's important to be aware of what / who they are because many books, stories, speeches, and all kinds of writing alludes to greek myths. everything from planets to space programs and computer parts are named after them.

Buy books by Joseph Campbell. He is the myth authority, and Greek god are closely tied into the myth.

okay there are alot. KRONOS is the father of the three major gods zeus of the sky- poseidon of the sea -and hades of the underworld. then there are minor gods like aries(god of war and aphrodite-god of beauty) i cant give you an exact number because believe me . there are thousands of gods.

They are awesome. I like them. They are just as human as we are. Cool. I'd recommend you to read THE GEEK MYTHOLOGY by Edith Hamilton. It's easy to read and thourough.
