I have been through many trials in my life, particularly the last couple of years when my parents and brother died, all while I was going through a horrible divorce when my ex-husband kidnapped my child and kept her from me for a year while I fought a horrible custody battle. I also almost died several years ago. I was also in an emotionally abusive marriage and my daughter is undergoing counseling because of her experiences. What has this all taught me? It has taught me that I can overcome anything if I trust the Lord. He alone has given me the strength to go on and to hold my head up and fight the good fight to be strong for myself and my kids. Adversity has taught me to rely on the Lord and has taught me to be more sensitive to the hurts of others and to be more compassionate.

I learned that misplaced faith is as strong as real faith. By misplaced I mean your make-believe God. I am sure you are a wonderful, god-fearing christian, and an asset to our society because of your convictions.
However
Your faith is based in fairy tales and stories that have been manipulated by men in power, someday you will see.
But I have learned not to confuse one with the other.

I like your answer Encourager4God. So true.
Tough times & I am going through some now, has taught me, never to trust on my own understanding, but to always rely on, lean on God & look to Him first, always in everything.
He has taught me what Love is.

I have been through Adversity. I have also been through Trials, and Tribulations. They were pretty bad.
But of all the cities I've been through, the worst place I've ever been through is West Oakland.

That God is always in control even though there may seem to be chaos all around me and also when I look back I can see God's hand, but not always when I was in the midst of it.
My faith and trust in Him has increased. His love has never failed me. He has never abandoned me and His love is never disappointing.

I've learned to look at the other person-not just worry about my image.
You are so right. Good things can come out of any event.

How helpless I am.
What the "cup of bitterness" is.
What "mad enough to spit" means
How much in need of help I am.
When there is no one who cares, there is at least One out there who understands, and will not reject me.
Afterwards, the greatest beauty and treasure was mine.
