I get my periods once a month like any other girl, but my periods used to cause pain and don't anymore, and I started mensturating late at age 14, an atypical age for girls to start puberty. My periods are only heavy on the first two days. Sometimes i have irrational fears that I am really a hermaphrodite? Does this sound like that? I am 23 and for some reason I have this fear, even though I got my period at 14, etc. and have breats, no facial hair, etc.

A hermaphrodite has both male and female reproductive organs. Have you ever had a gynocological exam? If so, they'd definitely have noticed if you had any male reproductive organs around, even if they were entirely internal. If not, you're supposed to start having regular exams when you become sexual active or are around 18 years old, whichever comes first, so you should probably have an exam anyway.

Fourteen is well within the normal range for girls to get their first period. My mom didn't get hers until she was 18, and given that she's had two kids, I'm pretty sure she's female. It's also normal for how painful your periods are (or if they're painful at all) to change as you finish puberty, and also with other factors like how much exercise you're getting, what you eat, and how much body fat you had. And it's normal for your periods only to be heavy for the first two days. Many women's periods only last 3 or 4 days total, and they're supposed to start out heavy and then get lighter, so only being heavy for the first two days is definitely normal.

There's absolutely nothing you said that would suggest you're a hermaphrodite. But if you still can't stop worrying about it, go to your doctor, and tell him that you have irrational fears that you're really hermaphrodite, and you need to know for sure. He can examine you, and conclusively tell you that you're entirely female. Hopefully that would let you stop worrying about it.

If you were a hermaphrodite, you would have both male and female sex organs. Do you?If you are not sure, I would suggest you go to your doctor and ask him. The no facial hair or other male characterists does not sound to me as if you are a hermaphrodite. I know it is a very serious fear you are having, so if you have any doubt I heartily suggest you tell your doctor about your fears and see what he thinks.

Go see your doctor and have him/her tell you if you are a hermaphrodite. The doc will know, even if you have to get tested. That'll settle that. And what if you are? You can have fun being a woman and a gay man, or a gay woman and straight man depending on your preference. Think of the fun in that!

Hermaphrodite> Isn't that something, with both gonad groups., not a lack of both.? What the hell, do you shave your back? Have you ever got off with out the help of duracell?
