I believe a stronger question would be not only how could you benefit the military, but how could the military benefit you? There is a plethora of job opportunities available across each of the five branches of the military (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard). I would suggest speaking with recruiters from each of these branches in trying to find the career opportunity that is most appealing, interesting, and beneficial in helping you pursue your life dreams.

The military will benefit from your service regardless of what job you enter; however, if you do not find a job appealing to your interests then you will quickly burn out.

I think the Army is the easiest branch of the military to get into because they don't really require a minimum ASVAB score to join. They base the ASVAB scores on what jobs you can do once you join. Basic Training is 9 weeks long, the initial physical requirements for females is one mile run in under 10 minutes and 30 seconds, 1 pushup, and 17 situps. The ages for entry are 17-42, a high school diploma or a GED, U.S. Citizenship, and no physical or mental disabilities.Hope this helps.

The milltary isnt just for men but country bumkin has a good point. We need something to go home to to keep us from going insane.

FYI the age cap was raised from 35 to 45.

t2kmf, your incorrect, the age limit is you must have completed basic training by the day of your 42nd birthday, so as to have the ability to retire by your 62nd birthday.

The National Guard. You will be more likely to be putting out forest fires than getting in fire fights.
