It matters what you do with it.
I have hair up to my rib but I used to have long hair.
TIPS:
-Use tomato juice in your hair when you take a shower, you can still wash it with shampoo and such but it helps it grow longer, it may be nasty but works!
-Brush your hair so it has NO TANGLES.
-Buy INFUSIUM 23, it is a Leave-in treatment for damaged hair and mosturizes it, it also helps.
I hope I helped you!
-Ashley

Mine was past that and it took me a few years between trims and emergencies cuts as a little kid to get it that long. Now days being 6 years older than I was then I have less accidents that cause cutting and can better predict how long it will take. It's taken about a year and 3/4 to get it about that long again from just above my shoulders. It's not a fast process, lol, be patient!
Like they have all said it depends on you, mine doesn't grow that fast but it also doesn't fray easily in the same respect so I deal with it being kind of slow.

It took me about two years after I cut my hair to about chin length, but it just depends on how fast your hair grows. I didn't like waist length hair though, it was a little too long and got in the way when I slept at night because I can't wear my hair up when I go to bed. I prefer to keep my hair length about half way down my back.

It took my wife about 14 months from shoulder length, but her hair grows faster than average. From vey short, you would do well to grow it to your waist in less than 2 years - three would be more typical.

For most people it would take them several years.
For me it took about a year and a half, but all depends on what length your hair is at the time.
