cant you just find one burnt out somewhere else and switch 'em? or shake and tap an old one until it breaks the little wire thingy in there.

What causes bulbs to burn out faster is contraction and expansion of the filament. If you can rig a circuit to pump a lot of current through the bulb, then shut it off, and repeat--1/2 second interval--that ought to break the filament fairly quickly.
