Well, depends on how you want to use the satellite radio.
There are two companies (granted they may merge into one depending on the FCC) that you can choose from, the only difference is programming.
One is XM the other is Sirius (serious).
They both have fm modulated units that will work with your existing radio, they offer wireless fm modulation and wired. They benefit of the fm modulated ones is most of them are portable from the car to the house with the right kits, or from car to car, and they have their own portable boom boxes to use at like the park and beach.
The other option is to replace the radio in the car with a Satellite ready radio. This option make it where you can control everything through the aftermarket radio. This option is more expensive, but sometimes more convienent and the sound quality is superior to the fm modulation.
Go to your nearest Car Audio shop and ask them to demo both options to you.
Have fun.

Start by asking yourself: Do you have tape deck or cd player? If you have a tape deck, most systems will work without much of a problem, but if you have a cd player, you need an FM Modulator built into the receiver.
What kind of programming or features are you looking for? My husband has a Sportscaster since he doesn't use his as much as I use mine & likes having a clock built into the system. I love my Roady XT for the ticker(my fav stocks & sports teams are programmed in), its ease of use, 3 layers of presets (2 are in use for now) & the background color option (using lime for now easier on the eyes at night).
Do you have either a cigarette lighter or a 12v power outlet? Either one will work to power your system.
Look for a system that doesn't obstruct your view when driving & a reciever can be easily removed when you leave your vehicle unattended. Whatever system you choose, just follow the installation instructions (don't permanently mount anything til you decide if it is a good place for it) & it should be able to enjoy your system in no time.
