What's more responsible for the bass and sound? And how many watts for a good car sound system?

Speakers produce what are called the mids and highs in a system such as voices and instrumentals. An amp to them is recommended but not required.

Sub-woofers only provide bass and require an amp to power them.

Depending on the money you have would depend on how much power you can afford. A basic system could be a total as low as 400 watts. 200 watts for the speakers and 200 for the subwoofer.

But it all depends on your taste and how you like to hear your music.

I could tell you one thing, and you like another. Everyone likes different sounds.

speakers are things that reproduce resonence. a sub is just a type of speaker that reproduces low frequencies.
here is what u would normally would do if u want good sound (basic)

1 or 2 subs (bass) 300 watts/RMS
Splits -front (midrange and treble) -+65watts/Rms
coaxils rear (rear fill) +- 65 watts/RMS
amps to power it all:
mono for the sub/s
2channel for the splits
coaxels for the headunit

the average human ear can hear frequencies from 25 to 20000Hz.

a subwoofer reproduces frequencies from 5 to 200 Hz (sub-sonic to bass notes)(less than 20 you can't hear but you'll feel)

a woofer can do well from 50 to 5000 Hz. (bass, mid-bass, mid range and low highs)

a tweeter can work from 2500 to 15000 Hz. (high to very high notes)

a supertweeter goes from 10000 to 25000 Hz (very high to supersonic notes)(>18000 you can't hear but can still cause hearing damage at high volumes)

the way you make them work together is up to you. some people don't require subs or tweeters because they don't care how it sounds or don't know what they're missing. some people like extremely high fidelity and think everyone else is ignorant. either way, you cannot get the full audio spectrum reproduced in any appreicable quality without subs or tweeters. bass cellos can produce notes as low as 30 Hz, and you can't hear them without subs. electric guitars can soar as high as 10000 Hz, and you can't appreciate how awesome they rock without tweeters. no matter what you listen to, all the speakers work together and if properly configured can change just listening to a listening experience. it doesn't matter how much power you have, all that depends upon is how much power you want and what you want to do with it. some of the highest quality home stereo speakers run at one watt or less and will knock your socks off with their clarity. some of the highest quality speaker brands can also make subs so loud that it's not good for your heart to be inside the vehicle and consume tens of thousands of watts. choose what fits your ears, your budget, and your skill. don't worry, all three of those will get more in tune with time.

Generally speaking , speakers come in variants , " Woofer" ,"sub-Woofer" "Tweeter" , the woofer is responsible for bass effect , tweeter is responsible for treble , so if want more u have su-woofers which have both bass & treble in it , so if u want a good quality try fixing these,

output watts depends upon the car size u have , so better check out a good caraudio outlet and get suggestions from them.
