I used a saline nasal spray a few days ago. Now, when I inhale, all I can smell is the spray. It's almost as if I can taste it too. It's making me very uncomfortable. Is there anything I can do to make it go away or do I just have to wait it out? Thanks in advance!

I appreciate all the answers I've already received and I've tried them all. Some of them worked but the smell came back, though not as strong as before. If anyone has any other suggestions, please feel free to share. PLEASE! Thank you.

Saline spray is a wetting solution. It supposed to induce mu cosa production in mucos membranes. Meaning you should be using this for dry sinuses.(usually from dry heat in the winter) If this is the case and you were really dried out it may take a few days for all that could soak in to very dry membranes to seep back out.
Decide what's worse. If it's dry sinuses, use the spray and tough it out.
I the spray taste is worse, take a decongestant/antihistamine elixir for a day or two and it will dry up the rest of the spray in your system

This is a problem I've had. It is probably not the spray you are smelling and tasting. It sounds more like you have a sinus infection. An antibiotic may be called for. Get in to see your doctor.

Go to your cupboard (or freezer) and pull out your coffee can. Open the lid and take a good whiff. Honest this works great! They even have lil bowls of coffee beans in perfume shops to help clear your "sniffer" after you've inhaled various perfumes. Hope this helps.

You need to wait it out as the spray you used was nothing more than a salt water spray.

Very strange. Saline doesn't really have any odor. Try smelling something else that has strong odor- peppermint, menthol etc & see if that helps.

Yes, that happens sometimes. It's yucky isn't it? I've found that a warm cup of peppermint tea (my preference, I'm sure anything other than water would work) helps ease that feeling.
