I have a rather large tattoo on the outside of my lower leg. I shaved all around the tatt as normal. After about 3 weeks, I made sure I had no more peeling or scabs. I then put a fresh blade on my razor and shaved over the tatt gently. I use Soft Shave gel. I put on a thin film and shaved downward with the growth direction. The next week, I shaved against the growth to get a closer shave. Just be careful and be gentle for a few weeks after you start to shave again. If you can, use a fresh blade every time for the first few weeks. Happy tattoo:)

you have to wait until your tattoo is completely healed (about two weeks) but you can shave everywhere else except directly on the tattoo. and i know plenty of straight guys who shave their legs. some do it for their tattoos and some don't. it's cool.

Wait until your tattoo is healed! Shave around it and trim it or whatever you have to do, but you can comprimise the finish if you shave too soon!

wait til it heals....you could probably use an electric trimmer if you really need to. Whatever you would normally do if you got a cut or scab on your leg should do the trick.

Yeah, well I shave where I tape around my knee, so I understand...ANyway, I'd wait until it is COMPLETELY healed...not a single scab or peeling or dryness...perhaps 2 weeks or so.

Wait until it is completely healed (which is generally about 2 weeks)
