it might be. i am woried to becuse i bought some cheap *** pet pride becuse i ran out of meo mix. i would not feed them the food with dates not recalled becuse i heard on the news they keep adding more pet foods to the list everday, so to be on the safe side buy them some cheap chiken or beef and feed them that to be on the safe side. becuse we all love are animals if they are not effected, than you dont have to take a risk with other foods.

i hope this helps you.

I agree with those who advice you to take yur cats to see a vet for possible kidney damage. Cats can lose a part of their kidney functions and still seem OK. If you have any remaing pouches of cat food that is in the recalled list, you'll be risking your cats' lives if you continue to use them. If I were you, I would give them cat food that is NOT on the list - Whiskas or Friskies or Fancy Feast or dry cat food. Stay away from the brands that are on the list for the next few months, just to be on the safe side.

Go to the nutro web site or the Menu pet food website and look under Their cat food listing. They'll list the product/lot # and date range affected in the recall. Compare the numbers on your packages with the numbers listed on the web sites. If you no longer have the product , I would definately take my cat to the vet for a check-up and contact the nutro company for reimbursement of your expenses. Don't mess around with your cat's health. I'd take him to the vet regardless. And if you still have the packaging, keep it for testing and talk to your vet about it. Good luck. I hope that your kitty is ok. It's better to be safe than sorry.

All of the above answers are good. I haven't heard what the harmfull ingredient is that is in the tainted food, but I would also recommend you detoxify your pet and really push lots of water.

Try some water games like putting a cat treat in a bowl of water. (It has to be one that floats.) My cats will drink the entire bowl to get the treat. You can try ice cubes also. A running faucet is another idea. Water flushes toxins so the more water, the better.

I have also used Nutramin/Terramin clay to detoxify. This is used in zoos and such. Just mix a little with the canned food. Toxins cling to the clay and are carried out of the system. You can get this at health food stores or online. Here is a link for more info. http://www.thepetalternative.com/nutramin.html

I would recommend calling a holistic vet if there is one in the area. They may be able to suggest other preventative measures you can take to insure your cats health. Good luck.

You can check the dates here.

If it's not on the list your cats should be in no danger. But I'd discard the rest just to be safe. And keep on the lookout for signs of kidney failure such as loss of appetite, lethargy and vomiting.

If they've eaten any food that is on the recall list, I would suggest seeing your vet asap, before any problems get too far along.
