It all reads like a shell game. I am really trying. I support you, but this whole war reeks to high heaven.

"blasted with facts that never seem to quite add up" What facts are you speaking of?

Here are a couple of facts you should know:

1. U.S. sold vast quantities of war supplies to Iran in 1954 after regime change by CIA replaced Mossadgeh (opposed to foreign corporate hegemony on Iranian oil ) with Reza Sha.

2. Ayatollah Khomeini disbanded 70% of military personnel and war supplies. Iraq attacks in the 80s with U.S. bought biological weapons and small arms (surprising they did not find these* weapons).

3. Bay of Pigs was a disaster but what was its primary goal? Regime change.

This war in Iraq is the sum/result of arms industry, oil, and our plutocracy. The troops are dieing but large corporations such as Halliburton rack in the profits, why would over 100+ large transnational corporations who supply war supplies want this war to end? War ends the demand for arms decreases. Take a guess how much these corporations donate to political campaigns, take a guess how much money is placed in off shore accounts, how much they pay lobbyists, how often their representatives are present at dinner parties, meetings, etc. The Marxists of the past are rolling in their graves, they were right democracy/capitalism will fall to large monopolies.

And here you are spoon feed by news corporations with political agendas to believe the war is for "freedom" to rid the world of "terrorists", but in reality something beyond your comprehension (until further education) and the scope of this answer is taking place.

Please take the time and read about the history of the modern Middle East, please take the time and read a book or two on our social/political system. Take a course in critical thinking, take a course in sociology.

I still cannot believe we have a former head of Halliburton as our vice-president. Say what you want "he is not associated" "no connection" you are only fooling yourself. President Eisenhower warned us in the 50s in his farewell address of a growing cancer, an epidemic of vast proportions but today its beyond repair the merger of industry and the military.

This all could of been avoided if reason, logic, research, investigation was used by the American people instead of blind belief in our leader, and a thirst for blood and revenge. The American people are nothing more than the modern day equivalent of the Roman mob. Easily swayed by political ads, posters, rhetoric filled speech, bias, unrelated issues, and merits.

We are hostage to the few, the wealth, and the large corporations. The same people who control the news channels (ex Murdock), fund politicians, and will eventually completely control foreign and domestic policy and the funny thing is the American people will believe their voice is calling for those changes.

I tell you this not because I hate America, but because I love it with all my heart. Educate yourself erase your ignorance and help.

m1a1 and your proof? I have every single history book regarding the middle east from authors both Iranian and American. Why do you presist on speading false information? You probably just a kid dont worry youll find out soon enough when you have actaully taken classes, read books, spoke to people who were actaully in the fight (Iraq Iran war) about the matter not just blatantly call foruth assumptions. Its people like you, the morons ,im sorry to be so vauge, that will be held accountable, in the eyes of history ,if this civilization is to fall

Probably not.
Do you? I don't as I'm not privy to that information. Just remember you don't get your information, for the most part, from the government, you get little clips of somebody debriefing some glory hungry reporters. Most of what you "get" is manufactured, much the the "facts" on YA. I was in the shi* in 69-71 and I didn't know shi* about anything.

Think about it, you're the coach on a football (OK, soccer) team and the crowd all knows your plays; how much of a chance are you going to have of winning. If you think for one second that things should "add" up for you then you're living in a fairy tale land and for your sake I hope you never wake up. The real world is a shi* place with some really really bad people that want what you have. Thank whoever you pray to, if anyone or anything, that you live in a country where you are at least partially shielded from all this.

Soldiers know that fact more than anyone else. We see the truth first hand while the exaggerated version is played on the news.

I remember the Fox News coverage on the war while I was in Iraq. It was as much funny as it was sad.

In reference to the ridiculously long post:
M-4s don't jam if you know how to clean it. USE DRY LUBE FOOL.

The 5.56 round is not designed to kill the target. Its meant to wound so his buddies have to carry the target away, effectively taking up to 3 people out of the fight instead of 1.

Don't you wish that people like "Just the facts" could learn how to edit something that they received in an e-mail before they post it online?

I started to read it and gave up very quickly.

If he's too dumb to help the readers out, his opinion must not be worth very much.

Now, to the question.

"Do our soldiers understand that the U.S population has been blasted with facts that never seem to quite add up?"

That's because they aren't facts, they are lies, and lies never add up.

Our soldiers understand they have a job to do. It is up to people at home to decide if that job is worthwhile or not. Either way, they only understand their duty.

Do we understand that they see terrible injustices carried out on humanity everyday? That many of them may feel that "something" has to be done? Our point of view is from an armchair. Theirs is from a battlefield. Both are valid.

War can be ugly and the explanations with the excuses are just not pretty. Every conflict has a bit of insanity in it. They say that trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result describes what you are suggesting.

Many of the Democrat Party and Liberal Left distort facts. It is for what ever supports their agenda.

Reagan said it best: Trust but verify.....in other words do your own research.
