I have always fed my cats the best in wet cat food and specialised cat mince. However, at the moment, they won't eat it. All they want to eat is dry food. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I could try because I don't want them to eat just dry food, it doesn't seem right to me.
Should I try another brand of wet food?
Help, please.

Before anyone goes off about me feeding my cats wet food and the whole contamination thing, hold on a second.
Number One: I live in Australia
Number Two: I have still checked the contaminated lists a hundred times over.
Number Three: I did hear the news
Number Four: I would never do anything to hurt my cats and put them in danger, they are my kids for goodness sake!!!

Cats "go off" on their food now and again. This may be becuse they do get bored of the same fare; or the food got stale the last time and they remember it (happened once with me); there is a slight change in the taste from the last batach produced. Not to worry... just go get them something else in a flavor you know they will like (bearing in mind the recall list).

I hope you know about the recall of different types of wet cat food. Some cats got sick from it and others died. You can probably look it up on here. I'd just stick with the dry food for now. Just have water near it. They'll be fine.

It is not related to the wet food. Wet food is good for cats. It doesn't cause diarrhea anymore in cats than it does in humans. What may cause diarrhea is a sudden change in diet. Even if his new diet is better it is wise to make the change slowly so his digestive system can adjust to the new food. My cats ONLY eat wet food and they have never had diarrhea. Starting tomorrow give him only about as 1/4 as much as you have. Increase it a little in a few days, then again, so his digestive tract can adjust.

Yes, try them on different brands. I don't know if any of these are available in your country, but it's worth a shot.
If not, look at what's available in the pet stores. Read the ingredients list.
You want to see:
Meat listed FIRST, or at least in the first three.
You don't want to see:
Wheat, corn, soy.
Byproducts
Meal
Oh, and since you're already feeding canned, you are probably aware that dry food does NOT clean the teeth - that's a myth.

Ok narba, are you phishing for information about the Menu Foods -- a major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands -- recall of 60 million containers of wet pet food Friday after reports of kidney failure and deaths.
You certainly must have heard about it, eh?
And, you're telling us you're about to switch to another brand of wet food which there's a good chance you might pick the one that might kill your cats?
Good Lord girl, watch the news once in a while.
Ok, for the sake of your cats, I'll bite...
Read this:

Don't buy any of the cat food on this list:

ADD EDIT:
Ok, fine...how in the he(( were we supposed to know where you live and whether or not you've heard about the recall?
Don't you realize that when you say "wet cat food" that you're raising a red flag to those of us that have been following this awful news the past week or so?

There is a nationwide recall of wet food going on - it is making many cats and dogs sick and some have died. Check www.menufoods.com and make sure your brand is not on it.
By the way, it is perfectly OK to feed cats only dry food. My cat eats nothing but dry and he is thriving. It's better for their teeth too.

You spoil your cats more than I do> I had to wean mine off of the wet food because they were eating better then me and the kids. And not to mention it got more expensive as they grew and got fatter. Try another flavor instead of another brand just to be on the safe side in the light of all the food recalls, ya'know.

Dry food is better for them, than wet food. Wet food can cause dental complications. Let them eat dry food for a while. They'll go back to wet, when they feel like it.

They're probably concerned about the pet food recall.
Try heating it up in the microwave for a few seconds and see if they go for it.

Dry food is much better for your cats anyway! And as a nice bonus it is easier on you. Plus look at the huge recall going on with wet food... maybe dry food is safer right now anyway!
