take some over the counter pain reliever. i would alternate advil and tylenol (xtra stregth fast release).
Try gargling with course salt and warm water.
Brush the area. Use the brush to gently massage the gums.
Apply an ice pack. NOT HEAT!
Try some topical pain reliever too.

Depending on how developed the wisdom tooth is. It can be pulled out, cut out, or have to be watched. You can take an over the counter pain med if it can't be tolerated, but tell your dentist if you do. It can affect what he/she does that day.
If they decide to take it out, he/she will numb that part of the mouth & do what is necessary to remove it by cutting it out or pulling it out. Have someone take you because the anesthesia they use can impair your driving for a while. They will more in likely give you a prescription for pain medication, such as 800mg of Motrin, & give you post-op instructions, like no straws, smoking, etc, for 3 days. Yes, it will hurt like the dickens for a couple of wks, but the pain eventually goes away. If you have any problems, don't be afraid to contact your dentist. I feel for you. Good luck!!

If it hurts then they should take it out. Wisdom teeth are strange. I felt mine coming in but I just chewed a bunch of gum and everything was okay. I was a big kid. Later, when I went to the dentist a million years later, all they wanted to do was to take out my wisdom teeth. Like they'd found gold. I still had the big mouth and wouldn't let them. Screw them, I have four wisdom teeth and I'm 40. Dentists get about $500 a tooth, so watch out. They hate wisdom teeth, or they profit by them.

They will probably have you go to an Oral Surgeon and have your wisdom teeth pulled. I just had emergency oral surgery a few months ago. It was extremely painful and VERY expensive unless you have dental insurance. Also be careful of getting dry socket if you can help it. Do not sip through straws after having surgery. That is one of the most common ways of getting dry socket. You'll have to go every other day back to your doctor and have medicated gauze placed and changed. It's painful and a big inconvenience. Hope that helps!

Oh, I'm sorry. That must be really painful. Hang in there. Obviously, they will numb you and send you home with a prescription for pain killers. Hopefully, you'll be able to get through the night. Good luck!
