at her house, make a trail of bananas to her room, then in her room have a poster that says, "if you went to prom with me, i'd go bananas."
... rose petals are very cute too, put a bouquet of roses in her room w/ a note
or, get a build-a-bear and put a voice recording in it

My friend Joe asked this girl to prom and the way he did it was that he actually went into her yard in the middle of the night and with her parent's permission of course spelled out will you go to prom with me in cristmas lights. Her mom coaxed her to walk onto her balcony for something and she saw his message. It was a pretty unique way to ask someone to prom.

Buy a fortune cookie beforehand and ask her on a slip pf paper. Slip the paper into the cookie and put it in a little box. Take her to a chinese resteraunt and at the end present her with the cookie.

The other day, I saw a cookie cake in the mall that said "will you go to prom with me? love_____". it would be cute to order one and ask to have it put in the window, with your name on it. then walk your girl by, and say something like "hey, check that out". when she sees its from you, she'll be stunned. and probably say yes.
