because he kept talking about two peas in a pod and being connected. Well, today as I drove home I happened upon him and I made an impromptu stop just to chat, he introduced me to his son which kind of threw a curve ball at me, I hadn't noticed the child in the back seat... I must say I am kind of confused... why would he introduce his son to me?

So far as we know, because the child was in the back of the seat. He probably thought he should introduce the two of you, since 1) You didn't know each other, and 2) You were in the same vehicle.
And if you say 'thought' now because you found out he has a kid... hrrrm...
There's such things as single parents... but, yeah, don't invest your feelings too much into him right now... he might have a wife.

That son is a part of him. He may feel an attraction to you and wants you to know he has a son. It was decent of him to tell you if he has some attraction to you. Think about this, do you want to go with a guy with a son? If it ever gets serious this is a major consideration.

Because his child is part of his life - anyone who wants to date him should know he has a little one. Children are not to be ignored or hidden in social situations. It's not like he made a special trip to your house to introduce you. You must be a youngun.

is he married or divorced? if married then he is probably looking for good friends, if divorced or unmarried he is probably seing how you would react to him having a son before he decides to get into a relationship with you.
