A lot of Protestants disagree with Jesus. They think that the gates of Hell DID prevail against the Church. But, they are going against what Jesus said.

How can I be causing division when there are already over 33,000 divided denominations of Christians? I'm only pointing out the fact that there is division. I'm the one who is saying that we should not be divided. That's why I'm against Protestantism because it's all about division.

Ignorance. They have not studied that particular verse very well. While it MIGHT sound like the gates of Hell will prevail against the church, it actually means that the church will be the one doing the prevailing. It's just ignorance, and a lack of good study. Makes a great call to service though for a pastor who desires to whip the people into greater effort for what ever his program is.

You wrote, "Jesus promised that the gates of Hell would never prevail against His Church". Actually, the book of Matthew records that Jesus promised that the gates of HADES would never prevail against his church. Hades is supposedly the abode of the dead while Hell is supposedly the place of eternal punishment. The Catholic New American Bible renders it as, "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it."

I would agree that Unity is important within the church. I have seen this cross-denominational unity more than ever lately.

One thing to watch out for is the directioning of a world government. It is inevitable, but the NWO new world order is getting closer. Make sure that your unity is under faith in Christ and not just as an orginazation.

You should also know that several groups, such as the Gideons are fully united as several judeo-Christian denominations. The split in denominations is really just over non-essentials.

I am a non-denominational Christian. I being a member of His Church, The Body of Christ, do have the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide me. I do know that Jesus is with me and that I am saved from Hell and Satan's fources. He has placed me, as a city on a hill. My light shines for Him.

I'm not sure I've ever heard any Protestants call Jesus a liar about anything and still call themselves believers. Are you referring to the notion of the primacy of the Catholic Church?

no they said liar to Jesus everytime the repeat that Eliah was to heaven before Jesus, because Jesus was first (John 3:13) and second because do´n´t read the verse in the bible that is in 2 Chronicles 21:12 that Eliah appears after 8 years of been taken to "heaven" but not to the place of God but the firmament.

gratvol... Jesus used the word "church" several times...

So, you are calling Paul a liar?

Acts 20:28 “Keep watch over yourselves. Keep watch over all the believers. The Holy Spirit has made you leaders over them. Be shepherds of God’s church. He bought it with his own blood.
29 “I know that after I leave, wild wolves will come in among you. They won’t spare any of the sheep.
30 Even men from your own people will rise up and twist the truth. They want to get the believers to follow them.

...Denominationalism is wrong, but the catholic church is wrong too.

We need UNITY AND TRUTH.

Jesus never spoke promises in a church. He did speak at least on one occasion in a synagogue but there is no evidence he made anyone any promises there. These promises were made to individuals not organizations.

So you mean, the church should be on the hills in Rome physically and visible from afar?
