Whenever I sit with my knees bent (in my lap or something) or whenever I sleep with my knees bent for a good period of time and then extend them, they hurt like hell. After about 10 seconds the pain subsides. Both knees are doing this but neither hurt during normal activity. Any ideas?

This pain isn't like a crick in the neck. This feels like someone stabbing a knife through it and it happens even when my leg is only a little bent (not even 90 degrees) for even 5 minutes. It hurts worse when it is inactive for a long period of time though.

It is probably caused by holding the same position for too long. Just like if you sleep with your neck bent in a funny position, you get a crick in your neck. That is probably whats going on with your knees. When it get in any position for too long, my joints sometimes ache when i get up. You could try sleeping with a body pillow between your knees, i don't know if it will help but it can't hurt to try. Good Luck!

just your knees locking up, a common thing, not to worry about it.
