Creationism is the position that God created the universe.

Young earth creationists generally believe that God created the universe, the earth, and living things on the earth and that the Old Testament literally describes six, 24 hour periods, believe the universe is 6,000 to 10,000 years old. They believe speciation occurred during this time from extant genetic information and environmental pressures.

Old earth creationists still maintain that the universe, the earth, and all living things were created by God, but that the Universe is very old.

Creationism, usually refers to the Christian belief that God created the universe. From there is has several sub-categories

Intelligent Design: God guided evolution
Young Earth: The universe is approximately 6000 years old (this age is achieved by tracing back Jesus' lineage to Adam) - a good book for this view is 'Thousands not Billions'
Old Earth: The universe is as old as science says (may or may not believe the God guided evolution) - a good book for this view is 'Creator and the Cosmos' by Hugh Ross

Personally I'm an old-earther. What astrophysics tells us about the Big Bang actually lines up pretty close to what Genesis 1 has to say (if you don't interpret the word commonly translated as 'day' as a literal 24 hour day)

That's it in a nutshell, hope it helps

Creationism or better known as Intellegent Design
This is a theory that, in my opinion, better fits creation than the theory of evolution. The theory basically states that there are numbers of very convincing evidences for intellegent design rather than spontanious chance. There seems to be a complex design that could not have possibly been mere circumstance. It had to have been designed by a superior intellegence. This fits perfectly into Chrisitanity and is now being taught along side of evolution as an alternative for scientific creation in some schools.

I don't think anything is way out there. I would suggest getting the book or better yet the DVD of Lee Strobel's

Case for a Creator.

You would not believe the evidence for a creator compared to evolution and chance as a source of life. Intellegent Design blows Evolutionism completely out of the water hands down. I don't care who you are...compare real evidence if you think you want to base your belief from science. Bring in the math. Creationism wins again.

More or less, the idea that the world was created by a sentient being and/or beings (usually the Abrahamic God in most contexts) either intentionally or unintentionally (though, again, usually considered intentional as this is what Genesis seems to describe)

Creationists believe that God created everything as recorded in the first chapter of Genesis, in God's written Word, the Bible.

Creationism is the belief that god created the universe and everything in it in six days. "Creation science" is a pseudo-science that was cooked up in order to try to justify creationism being taught in public school biology classes.
